If, for example, England or Australia are reluctant to tour Zimbabwe on the grounds that its cricket authorities are a pawn of its fascist and racist government then international cricket as we understand it will collapse in chaos and the offending countries must be threatened with heavy sanctions. If the fascist and racist pawns of the Zimbabwe dictatorship unilaterally break their commitment to play test matches then that is statesmanlike and they should be encouraged. Welcome to Speed/Mani logic.

One should never listen to the words of Scottish folk songs. Not only do they contain all manner of outlandish made up words but they usually don't make any sense at all. Bonnie Susie Clelland is a fine example of inscrutability.

And if you need any further proof that the Scots are peculiar beyond all reason, this little gem was chosen to be sung at the opening of the Scottish Parliament.

Last night it was -27C in Volgograd so I celebrated by watching Stalingrad. As [livejournal.com profile] taelle points out, it's a pity no invaders are approaching Moscow. Such a waste of a cold snap!
