chickenfeet: (feet)
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

[livejournal.com profile] fearsclave asked:

1) I've been dying to ask this one, actually: why did you pick[livejournal.com profile] chickenfeet2003 as a username?

When I first signed up to LJ most of the people I already knew were from the Ontario burner crowd. They had all seen the feet so it seemed like a good ID.

2) So how does one successfully raise two daughters?

I wouldn't know. I only have one and my role in her upbringing since her mother moved back to Australia has been a bit limited.

3) What got you started with the cats?

[livejournal.com profile] lemur_catta wanted one. It sort of spiralled from there.

4) What's your favourite beer?

Tough question. The bottled beer I drink most often is Wellington County Iron Duke. The draught I prefer is Al's Cask Ale from C'est What but I'll happily drink any of the Scotch Irish Brewing Company draughts. I think Unibroue has some excellent products, especially Maudite. The most notable beer I've ever had was from a French Trappist monastery and was called Rochefort 10.

5) Describe your ideal weekend.

I once spent a weekend in the Scottish Highlands staying a rather nice hotel and hiking. Put [livejournal.com profile] lemur_catta in the equation and substitute climbing for hiking and we are very close. If it has good climbing, a hot bath, good food, decent claret, malt scotch and [livejournal.com profile] lemur_catta it has to be good.

The kittens are now at the age where (when not eating or asleep) they dash about wildly in all directions with scant regard for whose feet they get under. This morning I must have hoofed a kitten across the room at least four times just getting from the kitchen to my office with their breakfast. Fortunately kittens bounce like extremely bouncy things so no harm was done.

Vegetarian dinner tonight owing to vegetarian guest. I guess it's appropriate for Good Friday anyway. I don't do veggie cuisine much owing to being highly carnivorous so this is kind of fun. [livejournal.com profile] lemur_catta has a copy of The Greens Cookbook so I used that for inspiration. Here's what I ended up with:

Kale and potato soup (pretty straightforward)
Eggplant and mushroom pasticcio - this is a bit more complicated:
fresh and sun dried tomato sauce
noodles mixed with sauteed eggplant and mushroom mixture
parmigiana/ricotta custard topping
this lot gets layered then baked.
Broccoli and red pepper salad with sultanas, walnuts and a sesame vinaigrette
Dried apricots poached in syrup with lemon zest and fresh ginger

I'll let you know how it turns out.
