Going nuts

The pain in my left arm and shoulder is pretty much unbearable. I have tried to sleep with the aid of too many pain killers but the results are not encouraging. Being one big writhing, sweaty puddle of pain is not my idea of fun.

Last night Toronto had its hottest night since records began. At its lowest point the mercury dipped to a chilly 27C. It was likely a couple of degrees cooler down here by the lake but the humidity is correspondingly higher. Right now its 25C and 91% humidity. The Forecast is calling for 36C later in the day and there are Humidex and smog warnings in effect. It really, really sucks.

I forgot to mention a fun detail of the cricket yesterday. By mid afternoon when Barnett was really getting after the Kenyan bowlers and it was really, really, stinking hot, the Kenyan fielders were wilting badly. (A bit surprising as one might imagine they would be used to the heat). Anyway, as they started to get really ragged two vultures started circling over the field. Gotta love vultures with a sense of occasion.

I have solved the mystery of the hole in the ozone layer. Some bastard is taking all the ozone and dumping it in downtown Toronto. The Humidex is currently 46 and the 'air' smells like a chemistry lab on a bad day. Listen to the man "don't drink the water and don't breathe the air".
