Interesting story. I thought you were going to point to a review of the W G Sebald book, but I think that is less than 10 years old, so where is my brain...

I confess I had to look up Sebald to find out who he was.

Ah, he's the guy who died just after signing my first edition copy of his novel Austerlitz. That kind of thing sticks in one's memory.

But I've never really managed to ease my way into his prose, so I can't tell you whether it's good or not.

Interesting story, being a newcomer into your LJ. So, do you speak Cymraeg? I've been learning and was doing really well until Mini-Mr-Tanuja turned up, I could translate reasonably well without too much of help from an on-line geriadur (sp?). My pronounciation, however, is horrific.
