It's been recorded a bunch of times, as have most of Britten's folk song arrangements. I do rather like the classic Decca performances by Pears with Britten at the piano.

I always prefer Britten's recordings of his own works, for obvious reasons.

I didn't know those folk song arrangements, actually. He did understand French very well, I think, because Rimbaud's Illuminations were very smartly set to music.

There are settings of Hugo and Verlaine (Quatres Chansons Francaises) as well as eight French folk song arrangements. He also set some Goethe and Holderlin. As far as I know the rest of his vocal works were in English or Latin.
