Actually it's possibly not exclusively a Bengal trait. My dance teacher's boycat, Papurr is a devotee of Sri Ganesha and steals his image from her shrine or wherever she hides it. He only ever takes Ganesh. Of course, its possible that he learned this from Padmini while in our care. It wouldn't come as any surprise if most most cats are Shaivites, Bengals I expect are especially fond of Kali Maa-.

I think the four-headed fellow is a form of Brahma. The only part of the set I'm missing is Garuda (Vishnu's ride). No Hanuman-ji available,sadly. Not sure why the makers of "Handy Hindoos" finger puppets chose those particular deities.
