Rugby and Lunacy Cabaret

So yesterday was the last scheduled game of the rugby season. As always on finals day there were two games scheduled but it resolved into one. I decided to play despite worries about my back which was probably a mistake because"worries about my back" undid me. The back didn't actually cause me any real problems but worrying about it caused me to play in a very half-hearted manner so I pulled myself out of the game at the half. Not really a great end to the season.

The afternoon was spent eating and napping in preparation for going out in the evening for last night was Lunacy Cabaret, a circus and clowning show of an essentially adult nature. Some really good individual acts were rather spoiled by a linking quasi-MC act that featured a female(?) dressed as a man in loud plaid. Some people really need to learn that saying "fuck" and "losers" a lot in a whiny working class accent and making a lot of high energy obscene gestures gets pretty lame pretty fast.

High points included a guy who did amazing things with what looked like a fan but was actually one of those folded paper things that will assume a plethora of shapes, a guy who did an act as "The Crow" on straps and a woman clown who sacrificed her boobs and heart to a Barbie shrine.

It being Halloweenish a lot of people had dressed up. I hadn't but, since Dave McKay (my evil clown doppelganger) was in the show, if anyone asked I claimed to have come as Dave McKay. It seemed to work.
