How not to start the day

I woke up with a persistent earworm of the Terence and Philip song and it's snowing. I think I should just cancel today.

I also realised that I know people who teach at the Universities of Victoria and Waterloo. Are there any other universities named after London railway termini?

Not that I can think of. We of course had a Victoria University here until not all that long ago. I suppose there's City University, as City Thameslink counts as a London terminus for ticketing purposes.

You're inspiring me with the desire to found the University of Fenchurch Street.

I was thinking Paddington U in Lima, Peru of course. And then I'm sure King's Cross University in Sydney weould be able to find appropriate academic posts for [livejournal.com profile] oursin and [livejournal.com profile] misia.

I think I saw on the Internet that degrees can be obtained by mail order from the International University of Marylebone on payment of a certain consideration.

Oh! Aren't Radcliffe, Vassar, et al. the Seven Sisters?

That's really a stretch. Seven Sisters is a tube stop on the Victoria Line. For all I know there may be a University of Chipping Ongar or Clapham Common but they hardly count as railway termini.

Oh -- I missed the 'Railway Termini' part and just thought of the tube (although strangely, when I think of Victoria, it is the railway station I see in my mind's eye). Possibly because I've only ever taken trains from Victoria, Eustace, and St. Pancras.

Eustace?

That is definitely where Ernest should have been found!
