Culinary posting

If [livejournal.com profile] oursin and [livejournal.com profile] lilactime can do it....

Dinner last night:

[livejournal.com profile] lilactime's recipe for roasted beet risotto followed by baby squash sauteed with butter and garlic. The wine was Hippo Creek Pinotage.

The risotto was unusual and excellent.

Summer = Patio + Beer

It's a gorgeous day in Toronto so [livejournal.com profile] lemur_catta and I headed out for brunch. After a longish walk we ended up at the City Grill. Their menu has got distinctly dull but they have a lovely quiet patio and draught Hoegaarden. The quantity of Hoegaarden consumed necessitated a serious post-prandial nap followed by a wake up swim. Unfortunately by going out I missed the rather sudden end of the Test Match but one can't have everything I suppose.

I think having now done research on brunch spots with patios and decent beer, I think we will be checking the Biermarket next. Anybody else have good reccs? We have done Fionn McCool's and the Granite Brewery many times.

Right now I'm listening to [livejournal.com profile] tamnonlinear being erudite about Tam Lin on the BBC. She has a lovely voice...Rawr!

Kitten update: He is growing up fast. He is trying to climb the walls of his cage (with some success) and is using his litter box. Clever little kitten.
