Ten more movies

This was fun so I thought I'd do it again.

1. Pick ten films you love/thoroughly enjoy.
2. Find screen stills for each film.
3. See how many of them people get correct.

ETA 3,9 and 10 still unidentified

I thought I'd get in faster, this time. Problem is, I don't recognise much at all!

#5: Logan's Run?

[identity profile] chickenfeet2003.livejournal.com 2005-08-15 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Correct! More Jenny goodness.

[identity profile] glitterboy1.livejournal.com 2005-08-15 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, it was Michael York that I recognised first. :-) Not that he's my type. It's just that there's more light on his face. Yes, that's what it was.

[identity profile] glitterboy1.livejournal.com 2005-08-15 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Umm, #1 isn't 'A Fish called Wanda', is it?

[identity profile] glitterboy1.livejournal.com 2005-08-15 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought I recognised that back.

Number two is Belle Du Jour.

Were the Bogie/Bacall The Big Sleep, he'd be wearing a tie, but I can't tell which of the more tropical movies it is.

[identity profile] chickenfeet2003.livejournal.com 2005-08-15 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
#2 is Belle de Jour

[identity profile] thidwick.livejournal.com 2005-08-15 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
#8 is Valmont.

#7: Key Largo?

[identity profile] chickenfeet2003.livejournal.com 2005-08-15 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
#8 correct

#7 good guess but wrong

[identity profile] thidwick.livejournal.com 2005-08-15 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
If not Key Largo, then it must be To Have and Have Not.

You know how to whistle don't you Steve? You just put your lips together and...blow.

The Seven Year Itch?

Is number 6 Brotherhood of the Wolf?

[identity profile] chickenfeet2003.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
The Seven Year Itch?

No, it's To Have and Have Not. I was just confirming that with my favourite quote from the film.

Is number 6 Brotherhood of the Wolf?

Nope

[identity profile] itchyfidget.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
Bah. On, y'know, both counts :)

[identity profile] chickenfeet2003.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I see #6 has now been identified. A much better movie than the rather disappointing BotW

[identity profile] chickenfeet2003.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 12:09 pm (UTC)(link)
It's good. It's from a Conrad story, it's directed by Ridley Scott and there are great erformances from Keith Carradine and Harvey Keitel.

I'll look out for it, cheers.

#7 is The Big Sleep.

Nope.

See earlier comments.

Ah. My copy of the book has Bacall in a very similar jacket on it.

6 is the Duellists.....

[identity profile] chickenfeet2003.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Correct

4 ?Farewell My Concubine?

[identity profile] chickenfeet2003.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
It is. I'm impressed. I thought that was one of the more obscure ones.

Obscure R US: it's the things everyone's seen that I can't manage.

number 3, it rings a bell, is it one of the Vietnam war ones? I seem to remember this scene from the beginning, and right after this, someone runs off with the camera?
Or I could be completely wrong.

[identity profile] chickenfeet2003.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
is it one of the Vietnam war ones?

Yes, but I don't recall the scene being at the beginning

Film challenges

[identity profile] fromtheid.livejournal.com 2005-08-16 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
#3 is Full Metal Jacket and #10 is Delicatessen; #9 is something with a Biblical flair, but I haven't heard of any recent flicks where John the baptist gets his head removed so badly...

Re: Film challenges

Correct on #3 and #10
