Fiendish questions

[livejournal.com profile] lunar_affinity has posted the 101st King William's College General Knowledge Paper. It's quite fun and [livejournal.com profile] frankie_ecap and I have made a decent start but there's much to do. So head on over there and help!

In between playing with my niece and nephew, and showing my mum how to work her new phone... I've updated with links to the appropriate comments section, and entered some of the answers & themes we (by that I mean [livejournal.com profile] chickenfeet2003 and [livejournal.com profile] frankie_ecap) have got so far.

I feel very humbled by their knowledge!

You've got most of what I had, plus about a hundred more. I've added what I know; a few others seem vaguely familiar. I'm not sure whether the reference to clandestine marriage is to The Clandestine Marriage (an eighteenth century comedy) as I've seen it only once and can't remember whether there was a Robinson involved.

Pointed me in the right direction. It's Carolina in Il Matrimonio Segreto (http://www.tribalsmile.com/music/article_60.shtml) by Cimarosa

Damn, you're good. And may I also say that your icon has me in stitches.

Actually, I think section 1, q. 6 is the Royal Automobile Club, which celebrated its centenary this year and which was founded to oppose overly restrictive applications of the speed limit.

That makes more sense
