Scott Murray gets three weeks

Scott Murray's kick on Ian Gough has resulted in a three week ban. That's the very bottom end of the IRB recommended tariff for the offence (21-182 days) which seems reasonably fair. Emotionally, I can see a case for letting him off but realistically we all know what that would have meant. Every SANZAR thug from now to eternity would have got off because he was a "good bloke". The Kiwis and Jaapies already rip the arse out of the disciplinary system where their own favoured sons are concerned. Best not to give them any more excuses.

I've got to agree all round - I'd rather he had been let off too, but there's got to be a sanction for dangerous, well, I was going to say dangerous play, but kicking isn't play at all, is it?

It's not but nor is punching or dropping a knee and I've done both of those and got away with it! Not that I think I should have. I really dislike myself when stuff like that happens and I'm actually pretty good at staying in control but sometimes things get a bit emotional. Sadly, it's usually the guys like Murray who get pinged not the biters and gougers.
