On yer bike!

My bike has been playing up a bit recently; making a racket, play in the bottom bracket and gears stiff and all, so I took into the shop yesterday to get it fixed and tuned up. I spoke to the tech this afternoon. The bottom bracket is indeed a mess. Apparently the bearings on one side are all scrunched up and the tech has been swearing roundly at it as he tries to extract the damaged bits and replace them. With a bit of luck he will be able to finish it today.

Off yer bike

I just got back from the bike shop. Everything that can be fixed has been but clearly the old beast (like its owner) is wearing out. I bought the bike when I was working in Wigan 10 years or so ago. The tech pointed out that the brake levers are the wrong way round. I had never thought of there being LH and RH drive bikes but I guess it makes sense when you think about it.

So anyway, I rode my bike home from the shop and then, just as I was going through the second automatic door into the parking garage, the back tyre went completely flat. I have checked it out and it appears that the valve is knackered so no bike ride for me this evening. Grrr
