Fifteen a side at last

Yesterday was the XLs' thirtieth anniversary game and pretty much marks ten years of me playing for them as well. In the circumstances one might reasonably have expected that the relevant person would have made sure the pitch was booked etc but no, for the second time in four weeks, our game was preempted by that wankfest "ultimate frisbee". We ended up playing on a practice pitch that wasn't even marked.

On the other hand we did play fifteen a side for what seemed like the first time in months. I played the first half at flanker and the second half in the second row. It was a pretty good game with a particular robust game long battle between the forwards. There did seem to be an unusual number of injuries but I've got nothing worse than a few bruises. Very decent burgers off the BBQ afterwards too.

According to LJ's rather naff "schools" feature, Durham is in Merseyside. Has some thieving scouser nicked it?

Back from the vet

Just took the kittens in to check on the suspected parasite problem. One of the kittens thoughtfully presented the vet with a very generous fecal sample while being examined. They tested negative for coccidia (not Chloridia which is different but equally unpleasant) so the vet treated them with a general, broad spectrum dewormer. Hopefully that will do the trick.
