Question for medievalists/linguists
Oct. 23rd, 2005 12:02 pmDoes anyone happen to know how much the Greek language used in the Eastern empire changed over the 1200 or so years of its existence? When I think how much most languages that i have any idea about have changed over a similar period I would expect the changes to be significant. That said, I've never seen references to "Middle Byzantine Greek" or anything like in anything I've read about Byzantium.
This afternoon I was even more like a zombie than usual.
lemur_catta has done an excellent write up. So I can go cook dinner instead.

Oct. 23rd, 2005 07:00 pmThe recent news that a parrot has been found dead, in the UK, from avian flu has prompted Monty Python references virtually everywhere. But is the Dead parrot sketch in fact the definitive Python endeavour. You, the readers, get to choose which is the the definitive, the most iconic, Python sketch of all.
