Sloth day

I took a bit of a sloth day yesterday to make up for the weekend. I took the lemur out for lunch to Gerrard Street. We had pretty decent pho. One way to tell it's cold is when the Asian markets have the frozen food out on the sidewalk!

We watched a couple of movies. Dirty, Pretty Things is a rather bleak but very good (and occasionally funny) look at life for illegal immigrants in London. To say much more would be spoilerific so I'll just say that it's one to see if you get the chance. We also watched The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The lemur hated it. I didn't hate it but it's not the HHGTTG. It's a fluffy romantic comedy with a few passing references to the original. I liked Alan Rickman as Marvin and Mos Def as Ford Prefect and the Vogons were good. The Zaphod was dreadful. The rest was OK but fairly uninspired.

1. What is your favourite type of sossidge?

I like lots of kinds of sausage; fresh and smoked and dry cured and so on. I think the best dish involving sausages I ever had was at a pub in the Forest of Bowland. It was a casserole of Cumberland sausage, black pudding and field mushrooms cooked in red wine and was fantastic. I discovered that the sausages and the black pudding came from an excellent source in Clitheroe which may be the sausage and black pudding capital of Britain.

2. What kind of car would you be?

Would be or would like to be? I'd like to be a Lotus Elan and have leggy models cuddling me at the Motor Show. Realistically I'm more like a Honda Accord; dependable, fairly low maintenance but not very exciting.

3. Would you move to Mars?

Not until there were more decent restaurants and a couple of Asian supermarkets.

4. What musical instrument would you like to play if you could?

Realistically, the triangle. I'd like to play clarinet or bassoon though.

5. Out in the snow or indoors by the fire?

I used to ski a lot and liked it very much. Now I am more likely to be found cuddling a cat in front of the fire.
