chickenfeet: (feet)
What a weird night. It started off with a US battle fleet in Toronto harbour. How did they get those carriers up the Seaway? It segwayed to vampires drinking in assorted pubs in Bishop's Stortford with most of them committing suictde by driving stakes through their own hearts. The final act featured field hockey played on top of a giant rubbish dump in an even more surreal than usual version of Mississauga. I really wonder about my brain sometimes.

The weekend

It is cold. I braved the elements yesterday but not today.

I cooked a lot. Giant batches of garbure, daube and choucroute. The freezer is well stocked.

I listened to the rugby. No surprises really.

I watched La Strada. I really liked it. It reminded me, by turns, of a morality play and a very elegiac Punch & Judy Show. They don't make them like that anymore.

When I was standing in the doorway to the office, Jane jumped up on my shoulder. She hasn't done that since she was a little kitten. I like having a shoulder cat.

Tomorrow I have the salt mines and a doctor's appointment.
