Pretty much set
Dec. 24th, 2007 10:17 amI think the Christmas shopping is done. All the food prep that can be done has been. Prezzies are wrapped. There is enough booze to float a battleship. We have watched Life of Brian. Christmas cannot be far away.
lemur_catta and I are even planning to go to Evensong at the Anglican Cathedral this afternoon.
For those who care about the Bear's gastronomic adventures menus are as follows:
Christmas Eve: Tuna steaks with duPuy lentils and onion marmelade followed by salad of green beans, figs and walnuts. Wines - 13th Street Chardonnay and Sandstone Vineyard Gamay reserve.
Christmas Day: Gravlax followed by prime rib of beef with lemon/garlic roasted potatoes, bok choy, beets and maple glazed parsnips. Wines - 13th Street Riesling and Marynissen Lot66 Cabernet Sauvignon.
We have cheese to follow; Epoisses, Mont d'Or, Shropshire Blue, Cheddar (Alex Farms Christmas Special and Monfort bandage wrapped sheep's cheddar), Corsu Vecchu, Monfort Fleur de Maquis lookalike, Woolwich goat.
The 'all local' wine selection is because we have overseas visitors and because we can!
Peace to all.
