Sandy in Toronto
Oct. 30th, 2012 04:51 pmSandy came and went. One person was killed by a falling sign. At one point 66,000 people were without electricity (out of 2.5 million of us). Half of those were back on the grid by lunchtime. A few schools were closed and there was some disruption to streetcar service first thing this morning. There's no flooding and all high wind alerts have ended. The Kitten Kondo barely noticed the storm at all. Normally high winds here come from the west and sou'west so they really batter us but last night the wind was out of the north and had little effect on our side of the building. It was kind of weird and misty with a very bright full moon first thing this morning though.
