Kitten Kondo 2.0 - week 3
Nov. 29th, 2014 11:21 amAll the ceilings and most of the dry wall is gone. It's basically concrete and framing at this point. They carted just over 3 tonnes of debris away on Wednesday so the clean up is nearly done and the build can start. We've finalised the wall lay out and the ceiling "concept". Basically hall, living/dining room and both bedrooms will have a dropped ceiling about 10cm below the concrete. Our concrete is at almost 3m so that will be high still. The kitchen, bathrooms and the area that connects the living room, the main bathroom and the kitchen will need the ceiling dropped maybe 25cm more to accommodate engineering work but it should be a very clean "two level" look facilitated by their being much less wall dividing hall, living room and kitchen.
Nearly a month living in a cave with three crazy cats is proving a bit trying but it could be much worse. I'm also realising how much I like being as central as we are at the KK. The extra 10-15 mins to and from everywhere is a bit of a drag. Still it's quite a busy season music wise. I have four more operas or concerts between now and Christmas, at least.
