England's top order problems are not exactly new news. I'd argue that there's no likelihood of a solution withuin the current structure of county cricket. 18 counties and a counnty championship played in the bokends of the season pretty much guarantees mediocrity.
Who would be an England spinner? How can you expect spin bowlers to perform with a wicketkeeper who is utterly inept. How many chances (catch/stumping) did Bairstow miss off the spinners? Probably more than the runs he scored. Seriously, when will the PotB realise that a proper wicketkeeper is not a luxury.
The umpiring. The only thing worse tthan England's batting. Thank Goodness for DRS.
