Fat help!

So Bell, Pietersen and Collingwood chipped in a grand total of 4 runs in the 1st innings at Rawalpindi. That should really help sort out the batting line up for the tests.

Does the heading of your entry suggest you want Mr Key called up?

I hadn't thought of that, actually. I was amused because I'd read an article last night that suggested playing two spinners and bringing in Collingwood as a second all-rounder. There are times when looking at English all-rounders (St. Freddy excepted) I'm reminded of the Ottawa joke about the Public Service definition of "bilingual secretary"; illiterate in both official languages.

Owais, lovely, lovely MyFutureHusband Owais should be playing.
That is all.

Are there moves to legalise polyandry in the UK?

only for *very* special people.
But seriously don't you think he's ace?

He certainly had a very good season. Unfortunately, today's selectors don't seem very interested in form in the county game.

is this about Rob Read? ;)
Thing is tho' that young Owais always did well for England at ODI and youth level.

I know. As far as I can see there is some sort of two tier selection policy. A new body (like Shah or Key) will be given a very limited time to perform and establish himself (it doesn't even have to be poor performance, the return of a rested or injured player can get a newcomer consigned to the outer darkness). If that doesn't happen he's gone, likely never to get another chance. OTOH once someone has made it into the magic circle they become all but undroppable (GO Jones for example). I find it very strange.

*first ever time that "GO Jones" and "undroppable" appear in the same sentence* :((
