Paging Mr. Churchill
Mar. 3rd, 2006 12:53 pmOK, so I'm the only one showing any interest in the Churchill Cup. I think it's a shame. The Churchill Cup in its new expanded format should be a lot of fun this year. For those who don't know anything about it, it's a six team tournament featuring Canada, the USA and the "A" squads from England, Scotland, Ireland and New Zealand. It's played in Ontario, California and Alberta in June so it will likely be played in pretty good running rugby conditions rather than in the sleet at Murrayfield. Rumour has it that Sky Sports are showing all the games in the UK which likely means that some part of Fox will be showing the games in North America.
Pool A - England, Scotland and Canada will play in Toronto and Ottawa
Pool B- Ireland, New Zealand, USA will play in Santa Clara CA.
Pool games are the week of June 3rd to 10th.
The finals are at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton AB on June 17th.
