Some time ago I asked for recommendations for music by contemporary composers that I might like. At
oursin's suggestion I acquired a CD of pieces by Lutoslawski (Double Concerto, etc) which I like though I still haven't got around to exploring
gnimmel's suggestion of John Adams.
I did luck into a piano piece by Rzewski; 39 variations on The People United Will Never be Defeated. Its a rather dense, virtuoso piece for solo piano but I am rather taken with it.
