Not sure if anybody who has any insight into this stuff is still on Dreamwidth but...
I'm seriously puzzled about the Guards Armoured Division. Who (and why) thought that turning some of Britain's best infantry battalions into tank units was a good idea? It should have been obvious that in a long war infantry units would be hard to keep up to strength and there were a metric ton of yeomanry units roled as AT and medium artillery who would have made fine tank units. I don't get it.
