My continuing search for interesting modern music has reached its nadir. Mr. Reich's opus sounds like someone let loose several chimpanzees with OCD in a room full of xylophones.

So...wait...you're saying it's bad? Or that you wish you had one of those big-ass bass systems in your car so you could drive around the 'hood blasting it?

Hey, that's a bit unfair. You're thinking of Michael Nyman.

Actually Steve Reich's music is strange, compelling and beautiful, but only if your ears are in the right place to receive it. I recommend listening to 'Six Pianos' and 'The Desert Music' a few dozen times to really get that minimalist vibe. Alternatively, of course, smoke something illegal and then take a good long look at a starling's wing.

Ah...my ears are on the sides of my head, rather than on top that must be why I didn't get it...maybe the cats liked it then ;)
