In praise of fleece
Jan. 24th, 2004 09:28 amFleece (the stuff made from soda bottles rather than sheep) is a wonderful thing. It first came into my life about 25 years ago when it's use was still pretty much confined to oil rig workers and mountaineers. Since then I have owned fleece jackets, trousers, hats, balaclavas, gloves and even blankets. I would guess that of all the garments I own my basic fleece jacket gets worn more than anything else. It is the perfect warm layer; it isn't sensitive to moisture, it takes almost unlimited abuse and you can even roll a jacket up and use it as a pillow.
And all this from recycled soda bottles.

Please excuse my curiosity.
