1. What law of nature ensures that any party of schoolchildren on a public thoroughfare will necessarily expand to fill the full width of said thoroughfare regardless of any attempt by other persons to proceed in the opposite direction?

2. What is it that apparently renders the accompanying adults blind, deaf and dumb?
