I just watched the Toronto Fire Service rescue a guy from a 9th floor window ledge of the King Edward Hotel. He was a window cleaner, who had apparently had some sort of gear failure stranding him on the ledge. After lengthy delays and the arrival of much useless hardware, a fireman rapped off the roof and broke the window allowing stranded cleaner to enter the building. King Street has been closed for most of the last hour.

That would explain why I was stuck at Dundas West station awaiting a King streetcar for almost that long. :P
