Kittens

We have kittens again. We just picked up four approximately for to five week olds from THS. They are grey/white long hairs and apparently healthy and independent. Photos when I can get the digital camera to work.

Kittens and circuses

After getting the kittens settled into the kitten condo we took off for the International Circus Festival. The usual schtick was going on the street stages but the Main Event Show was just amazing. Really good aerial silks, rope, Chinese pole and static trapeze acts including a mind boggling double static trapeze performance by Paz and Natasha which was probably the nearest thing you are going to see to a porn movie in a G rated show.

The real standouts though were the acrobats. Afro Jambo are five African guys who combine incredible athleticism with energy and humour to create a show that is just riveting. The other troupe were Chinese Muslims (Uzghurs?). They are the ones who recently applied for refugee status for those who follow the news on such things. The two girls were incredibly graceful and had a fantastic combination of balance, strength and agility. The men were perhaps less graceful, but great jugglers as well as acrobats. To get an idea of what I mean about the girls, one trick involved standing on one leg on one of the guy's head and then bringing her free leg up behind her head. Amazing!

I'm back now to let the kittens have a run around the office and get changed and stuff before heading out for more fun and frolics chez jez_e_bel and ginny_t.
