I went out to Fletcher's last night ostensibly to ref Nomads vs Beach U18s. There was a SNAFU. Two refs had been booked. I let the other guy do it and ran touch for him. I find I am now watching games in quite a different way. Running touch is different anyway but even when I'm just watching I'm watching the ref as much as the players. I have a Ontario Women's League second division game on Saturday. That should be fairly undemanding and allow me to work on some of the finer points of positioning, running lines etc.

Andrew Hodges (Turing's biographer and colleague of Roger Penrose) has a new book out. Sounds like it might be fun.

Between work and rugby there seems to be time for brunch on Sunday and not much else right now.

The Met High Definition broadcasts are finally coming to DVD or, at any rate, six of them are. They include Peter Grimes, Manon Lescaut and The First Emperor.
