chickenfeet: (penalty)
Yesterday 20mm+ of rain fell in most parts of the Toronto area.  Last night's games at Fletcher's were cancelled because the pitches were under water.  I'm supposed to be reffing in Brampton tonight.  I'm currently a couple or three miles away and it's raining.  There is also a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for the whole region.  Girls U19 games aren't noted for their high skill levels and open running rugby on a perfectly dry day.  You can just imagine how miserable it will be in the wet.

The field at Brampton was in pretty good shape given all the rain and the sun finally came out. It wasn't a bad game either, at least until the last ten minutes which were very one sided. There were a lot of really dumb penalties though. Players at U19 girls level mostly don't know the Laws nearly well enough. I think I had a decent game. I was always up with the play and called a technically correct game without being stupid picky. The technical Director of Rugby Ontario was there and was quite complimentary which was nice.
