Went for a long walk with
lemur_catta this afternoon. We wandered up Parliament Street and through Cabbagetown/Riverdale to the Necropolis. It is Toronto's oldest, still functioning cemetery and has assorted local worthies buried in it but, that aside, it isn't very interesting. Torontonians are characteristically conservative in their post-mortem taste. One recent interment though was decorated with a rather odd wrought iron thingie featuring a horseshoe.
We returned via the Lower Don trail which was pleasant enough except for the sections with scary people drinking by the river. The river itself is running very high and muddy. I didn't realise we had had that much rain but I guess we must have. There was a rather odd person practising his extremely limited skills on the trumpet under the Gardiner Expressway. I suspect he isn't allowed to play anywhere where he might be heard.
The humidity remains at skin crawling levels.
