Cherry Beach
Sep. 4th, 2004 10:26 amSince I can't run at the moment I got my bike out this morning (for the first time this year!) and headed down to Cherry Beach to check out the Rochester ferry. It really is a most impressive looking beast; very sleek and elegant. The whole area has been tidied up a bit and is no longer quite the out of the way venue for informal parties it used to be.
I had also forgotten just how lovely parts of the bike trail east of Cherry Beach are. In amongst the trees and with glimpses of the lake it's easy to forget that one is in the middle of one of the most industrial areas of Toronto. But that perhaps is one of the attractions of Toronto; the whole rus in urbe thing, wildlife in the ravines, raptors on the office towers, odd hidden corners, the parks.
