Sep. 10th, 2004 08:15 amJames McIntyre (1827-1906) is not considered canonical, even in CanLit circles. He is, however, one of the few poets who devoted a significant number of works to the subject of cheese.

They ne'er imagined it could flow
In this cold land of ice and snow,
Where everything did solid freeze,
They ne'er hoped or looked for cheese.
