As far as I know, nobody markets a cat shelf for flat screen monitors. Cats will snooze happily for hours on top of a CRT monitor but feel obliged to lie in front of a flat screen. Since I can't think of any way to render a cat transparent, a cat shelf would appear to be the best answer.

Even if you put a shelf on top of your flat-screen, you just know the cat would continue to lie in front of it.

Couldn't you get them to wrap themselves round your shoulders? You know it's the attention and inconvenience they want, not the keyboard!
