There is a very nasty kind indeed called a Box Jellyfish or Stinger (Chironex Fleckeri) that is commonly found along the Great Barrier Reef coast of Queensland. Unless treated quickly it can kill and indeed if you are swimming any distance from shore there is a good chance that the shock and pain would prevent you making it back to the beach.
So the Man-O-War and Lion's Mane aren't fatal after all? How disappointing. Btw, these (http://oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/explorations/02sab/logs/aug15/media/man_o_war.html) pictures (http://www.imagequest3d.com/catalogue/surfacedrifters/pages/j051_jpg.htm) are pretty neat.
So the Lion's Mane (http://www.mbayaq.org/efc/living_species/default.asp?hOri=1&inhab=443) is generally not that deadly, and the Man-O-War ranks far below the box jelly, which is the most dangerous venemous jelly, debatably the most dangerous venemous creature. I also discovered the Irukandji (http://www.avru.unimelb.edu.au/avruweb/jellyfi.htm#Irukandji%20(marine)) (possible TMI page - but lots on the box jelly), which has significantly less painful stings, but causes a host of mysterious and potentially fatal problems in its victim about 30 minutes after stinging.
How did you decide to get Bengal cats? They are really beautiful, but I have heard that some Bengals are quite wild. What sort of personalities do your cats have?
It was lemur_catta's idea. She really wanted one and persuaded me I would be OK with having a cat around. Of course, then I fell in love with Leela and we had to get me a kitten too, hence Padmini.
They are somewhat wild. It's certainly a good idea to make sure they have a reasonably clean litterbox! Leela is the more dominant one but can be a bit stand offish with strangers. She also makes her displeasure at any interruption of her idea of the normal order of things very plain. That cat knows how to yowl at a guy. Padmini tears around at night scrabbling at stuff and getting in and out of drawers and is generally the more mischievous one. Both of them are serious snuggle pusses with K and I, who they know and trust.
I don't know that there have been any "perfect moments". There have been a few really memorable ones. One that still sticks with me with utter clarity after twenty years was finishing a climb called Hawk in the Gunks. It was quite hard but more notable for intricate route finding, friable rock and really bad belays/stances. It was an easy place to get killed. The combined sense of satisfaction at climbing the route well and being alive was pretty intense.
Let's say that a mobile operator has 337k customers at the end of Q1 2003 and 307k customers at YE2002. If they also acquired 36k new customers during Q1 2003 then what is their churn rate? Churn is normally calculated as the customers lost divided by the average of period customer base. The thing is that the number I get is quite low, and I just can't believe it.
There are more of these if you're desparate for stimulation ...
Yeah, that's REALLY low ... 20% annual churn is an operator's dream. And the thing is, that was the churn when I know they spent a lot(!) of money on new acquisitions .... and it went up (to 8%) after (IMHO) they got good at what they were doing ...
Despite the frequent comparisons re: cost to serve etc. mobile telephony is nothing like retail banking.

I have not one, not two but three answers to this.
First the one I have done and would happily do again. lemur_catta and I spent an idyllic couple of weeks in a cottage right on the clifftop in West Penwith. We did some climbing, some hiking, some tracking down stone circles (and doing naughty neolithic things there). We hung out in great pubs. We bought fish straight off the boat and wonderful local vegetables to make fabulous simple meals. And we saw a badger.
Second the one I promised myself as a fortieth birthday present but which didn't happen owing to divorce and it's financial consequences. I have long had a desire to canoe one of the big northern rivers; the nahanni or the Coppermine perhaps. The sort of trip where you fly into a lake near the headwaters then canoe hundreds of mile of intermittent whitewater to the sea. Given the somewhat rusty nature of my whitewater skills this should perhaps be preceded by a couple of weeks intensive white water skills coaching which can be based at one of the rather nice inns in or around the Ottawa valley.
Third is the 'luxe' option. A spell at a luxury resort somewhere exotic; Bora Bora, the Seychelles?, learning to dinghy sail.
