This monthly event is coming up again in the better part of two weeks. I invite you to help me decide what to cook. This time around, the theme is "cook something that you wouldn't normally eat because you find disgusting or taboo".

All suggestions will be given due consideration.

What kinds of food don't you like? Other than fermented fish. And what foods have you always avoided just because they sounded wrong to you?

I think the only ones I feel squeamish about fall into one of two categories; mammals that are taboo in our culture (dog, horse, cat etc) and insects.

Any of those would work. But if you need further inspiration, I ran across this rather interesting list of off-putting but culturally significant foods today. Intriguingly, it even includes things like Velveeta cheese.

I don't think I would have a problem with rat or bat but dog makes me a little squeamish.
