Only of interest to Canadians with cable...

TV5 has the England/France game on tape delay at 1000 EST today.

Note to others... for the last several years the 6 Nations has only been available here in pubs etc via satellite firm, Sentanta who charge $20/person to watch.

For the record, this match will be live.

I hope it lives up to the spectacularly wonderful England France match from last year, but going from their respective performances against Wales and Scotland, I somewhat doubt it.

Well, I suppose it was exciting- but the French were rubbish, and the combination of a lack of Johnsonian discipline and Wilkinsonian accuracy renders us a pretty mediocre side. Looking bleak for Dublin.

Yes the irony of it is really quite appealing. I wonder what we shall hear from the Souuthrons who so recently were insisting that a try should be worth a million points etc?

We listened to it in the car on the way back from my parents' house and couldn't believe the lack of English discipline, along with the fact that poor Charlie Hodgson had a complete nightmare of a game. Oh for a consistent fly half, even if he was consistently mediocre, at least you can start building a team strategy & game plan.

On the plus side, Wales beat Italy, by a decent margin, putting them in second place. Providing they play like they did against the English, they should be able to take the game to the French. While my heart would like Wales to win, I think that this year could be Ireland's turn (IIRC they last won the 5N in 1985).

As an aside, the BBC commentator on the Scotland-Ireland games talked about O'Connell being the Lions' Captain, which would be a case of history (almost) repeating itself when Martin Johnson was named Lion's captain, despite not being the regular English captain and leading the squad to victory in SA.

As another aside, I do hope Sir Clive was watching all of these matches, I don't envy his task of choosing between O'Gara & a hopefully fit Wilkinson, for the first team.
