Following on England's win over Australia at Edgbaston which was the 2nd closest victory in a test by a side batting first, it seems rather ironic that some miles to the South, Zimbabwe should be entering the record books for quite the opposite reason.
New Zealand's victory of a few minutes ago was the 8th largest winning margin in test history and (as far as I can tell ) Zimbabwe's 59 and 99 constituted the fourth lowest aggregate score by a team in a test match beaten only by South Africa; 47 and 43 vs England at Cape Town 1988/89, India; 58 and 82 vs England at Manchester 1952 and India (again);58 and 98 vs Australia at Brisbane in 1947/48.
