It gets pretty weird around here much of the time but the bedroom floor is not usually scattered with finger puppets of assorted Hindu deities.

Don't think so. There's a Ganesha and a Kali and something with four arms and three heads but I didn't notice any monkeys.

I think it would be a great deal of fun to have finger puppets of assorted Hindu deities to play with.

Actually it's possibly not exclusively a Bengal trait. My dance teacher's boycat, Papurr is a devotee of Sri Ganesha and steals his image from her shrine or wherever she hides it. He only ever takes Ganesh. Of course, its possible that he learned this from Padmini while in our care. It wouldn't come as any surprise if most most cats are Shaivites, Bengals I expect are especially fond of Kali Maa-.

I think the four-headed fellow is a form of Brahma. The only part of the set I'm missing is Garuda (Vishnu's ride). No Hanuman-ji available, sadly. Not sure why the makers of "Handy Hindoos" finger puppets chose those particular deities.
