The kittens have been vaccinated and are all in good shape. Official weights (THS scales) are now:
Rufina and Slim 720g
Woolly Bear 780g
Amazon (formerly known as Fat Kitten) 920g

When Foxtrot and Oscar arrived, they were called Fat Nose and Thin Nose for a month until they got their real names.

Do you get to keep them for a set number of weeks, or until they reach a certain weight, or what's the deal?

How many kittens have you fostered this year?
How many sets is that?
Do you keep stats for all the Kittens?
Do you do this for the RSPCA-equivalent, or just to check that they are putting on weight?
Doesn't your cat get a bit narked, or does s/he get all parently with them?

I lose track of how many we've had. I think it's about ten this year, twenty in total. Maybe six or seven litters. We don't keep stats but we keep lots of pictures!

The foster deal is with the Toronto Humane Society. We have them until they are at least 850g when they are considered ready for adoption. Their official weight records are on their charts at the shelter. They get weighed officially every time they see the vet. We keep track unofficially to see that they are gaining weight properly and so we know when to take them in for their vaccinations.

We have two bengals. Padmini loves all kittens and gets all maternal. Leela can be a bit hissy but she's been getting more accepting with each litter.

That's a lot of kittens!

I can see why you were asking that people are more considerate with their pets and get them neutered!
Are there lots of people who foster the kittens in Toronto?

There are never enough and there are only a handful (like us and a couple of other people) who can handle bottle feeders. If bottle feeders come in we usually get called.

OK, I checked back through the photos. I think the stats are:

7 litters
18 kittens
3 died (a litter of two week olds with distemper)
3 adopted by friends
8 into the 'official' adoption programme
4 still with us

Do you miss individual kittens when they go?
