When was Wales a separate "nation", in the sense of some reasonably unified political entity having roughly its present boundaries?
Besides, the flag page would be huge if every former country was represented. There's no Aragon, Mecklenburg or Savoy for example. Let alone Bernicia, Gwynedd or Strathclyde.
Since Hywel Dda. And the original meaning of "nation" has nothing to do with being a unified state, more people sharing a language and culture (eg the use of "Iroquois Nation")
but nations in that sense don't have flags... and the poor flag person page would get very long if it had to have the Niskah, the Alqonquin, the MicMacs etc. It would end up with over a thousand for New Guinea alone.
