I got a cassette adapter for my iPod Shuffle today. This is most useful since my car stereo doesn't play MP3 disks. So now I can listen to the same audio book when I'm driving as when I am working out rather than having two different ones on the go. And it was only C$20.

The cassette adapter is one of those things that's so simple I forget to tell people about it - I worked through 3 fm transmitters, which all had drawbacks, before realising that this little bit of plastic and wires did the job just fine.

Can I recommend the podcast of the BBC Radio 4 programme "In Our Time"? 40 minutes of talk about various subjects (Gravitons, Marlowe, Samuel Johnson, Philosophy)and quite fascinating for listening to in the car.

Can you get those in the UK? My 2 recommended it so I suppose you can - but are they much more expensive?

[livejournal.com profile] f4f3 has one so they must be available in the UK. Several different manufacturers offer them and not all work with a Shuffle. Mine is a "Monster".
