Ritual

Lady Jane and I seem to have slipped into a morning ritual. When I stagger out of bed I head for the kitchen to put the kettle on for coffee. By the time I get there LJ is perched on the loudspeaker next to the kitchen doorway squeaking and chirping. This is her way of telling me to hurry up. Next I head into my office to check email and stuff closely followed by LJ who leaps into my lap and starts to purr up a storm. There she stays for as long as I do, occasionally giving me reminders to pay her more attention or taking a quick break for food. If I want to go to the kitchen, to get coffee say, LJ comes too cradled in my left arm. If I put her down instead I get loud complaints.

I'm not sure which of us is the bigger suck.
