The fire alarm has just gone off. It's probably a false alarm but if we do have to clear out I'm going to have a very interesting time rounding up and transporting all six felines down from the tenth floor. Right now I just wish the damn thing would stop.

ETA - The alarm has stopped but there has been no PA announcement. Very odd.

ETA2 - False alarm!

Does the phrase herding cats have any meaning for you?

I guess all your cats are indoor, house cats, then? Or maybe they go up and down the stairs - it would keep them fit, I guess.

I once thought about rigging up a pulley system to lower our two cats into the garden. Cute-but-stupid kind of blew that one out when he decided to jump from our second floor window (in case you missed the post, he was fine, my wife and I suffered multiple heart attacks). And I am not sure that the bird population would have been too pleased by the addition of aerial cats.

I live in a penthouse apartment in downtown Toronto. This is no place for outdoor cats plus two of the permanent residents are rather striking and not inexpensive bengals.

we need to get a big hard-sided carrier for Padmini and Jane. Leela is fine in the Sherpa bag. We can get the kittens in a Humane Society box I guess..hmm that's quite a juggling act for one person on ten flights of stairs.
