chickenfeetI just watched the highlights of the 5th ODI between South Africa and Australia. Extraordinary! Australia posted an extraordinary 434-4 in their 50 overs and lost. Every batting record imaginable was smashed; two highest team scores ever, most sixes in a match, most fours in a match etc. What impressed me though was that there was comparatively little slogging. I was expecting a 100 overs of 20/20 but, in fact, most of the runs were scored by good, genuine cricket shots. It's not like me ever to fee sorry for an Australian but one has to have some sympathy for Nathan Bracken. On a day when 870 runs were scored, figures of 5 for 67 are remarkably good so to finish on the losing side is a bit of a bummer.
