We can pretty safely say that that will at best be a tie with [livejournal.com profile] chocaholic7

I've been meaning to mention that you're the best user of the apposite icon I know.

What - none of them? Don't tell me - "it isn't my medium..."!

Wow. Voting in this poll made me feel very...uncultured.

My favorite foreign movie is Run Lola Run.

Or The Fifth Element.

What do you mean, it was in English?

VO or not, it is such a French film! How many films can you think of that can do the French farce bit of people dodging in and out of doors in a one-room apartment?

(Fridge. Shower. Bed with plastic film. Ouch!)

Yep, i always think of it as a French movie, and I'm always surprised when the dialogue is almost (meat popsicle, anyone?) in english.

I think for sure that there are others you would like, both in this poll and otherwise.

I think almost everyone I know who saw Crouching Tiger liked it, ditto Wings of Desire. Seventh Seal is one of my personal favourites. Other non-English movies you might like based on what you do like might include Malena, Delicatessen, Decline of the American Empire and Barbarian Invasions.

I've seen and liked Malena, and I own a copy of Delicatessen. Antonia's Line is one of my special favourites.

I found six that I can remember seeing, but there might be more that I have forgotten just from the title

so did I think you had. I would have chosen Amelie if you hadn't got there first. But I can always be relied on to pull a stupid movie person rabbit out of the hat - it was me who hadn't seen Wizard of Oz last time.

I'm going to see Night Watch in the next week, but didn't mark it because I haven't actually seen it as yet.

Oh, sure, now all the people who have seen The Passion of the Christ are admitting to it!

No kidding! Where were all these people before? :-)

OMG you so did not want to be there when My Daughter The Theologian and I watched it. She was sitting there with her Greek New Testament saying "OK, they've used this gospel here and that gospel there, and why did they take the bit from here?" and I'm sitting here saying, "For crying out loud, they'd be speaking GREEK here, Christ grew up in bloody EGYPT, they had to have the scriptures translated because everybody talked bloody Greek!"

You've seen more of them than all except maybe one or two other people.

Yes, but how many of them are on the committee of a film society.
