We are hopelessly geeky

The other day lemur_catta and I were sitting at opposite sides of the dining table beavering away. I was trying to prove a theorem in spherical geometry and she was making notes on some aspect of Hindi grammar. How different from the home life of our own dear queen.

Hindi grammar! *bonds* I spent a happy couple of hours on the relationship between Ancient Egyptian and Welsh syntax!

He flatters me when he describes it that way. Its just a first year undergrad Hindi textbook that happens to be called 'An Introduction to Hindi Grammar'. I'm learning profound things every native-speaking toddler already knows about how masculine nouns ending in 'ah' change the ending to 'eh' in the plural. At least know I can say 'Please give me many mangoes!' , which is important :)

Somehow when imagined us 'beavering away' at the table , I didn't envision us studying. Neither did the neighbour across the way with the telescope ;)

But, you're right, we're total geeks. I wonder where 'studying for pleasure' comes in a survey of how North Americans like to send their free time?
