I've just got back from the Humane Society after seeing Monster and the Tabbytwins pass their final vet checks and go into adoption. There was 2.5kg more kitten than when we took them in on March 21st. All three kittens were completely healthy and went straight through to the adoption display area. Wish them luck.

Goodbye, Monster and the Tabbytwins! I hope you find a home as good as the one you've just left!

Sad to hear of them going, but happy to know they were cared for so well.

(waiting for the next batch of kittens to grace your doorstep...)

I think giving up your kittens must be harder than resisting kitkats!

You will not be the only person to miss them - no more photos!

Will you be fostering any more?

And you still have LJG, of course.

I expect there will be other kittens. Orphaned kittens, like the poor, are apparently always with us.

Am pleased and sorry.

On a different note, which recording of Monteverdi's Vespers should I purchase?

I don';t the know the ork or the competing records well enough to make an informed judgement.

Thanks anyway.

Any idea what you'd be looking for, or shall I just hold my nose and jump?

I'd look for a good modern recording by baroque specialists I trusted, someone like Gardiner. Alternatively I'd buy whatever Naxos had on the grounds that mst of their recordings are good and they are very cheap. Or, I'd see what the Gramophone guide had to say. My music store has a copy at the classical counter.

I'm trying to do it on iTunes. New territory, no e-Gramophone, I guess.

In general, yes, Gardiner would be high on my list of bets (and he is also very, very attractive).

I agree with you about Naxos, as well, although I haven't been doing that so much lately. But some of my all-time favourite recordings are Naxos, and I think they're particularly good with things that can become very cliched like Rachmaninov II etc.

I'm days behind here, but I hope you kissed them goodbye. (And you do realize I'd kiss you for this, right? Very chastely, in a way Mrs. Feet would approve of.)

There's a big article on Cat Adoption Team (http://www.catadoptionteam.org/) in the home section of our local paper today. Kitten season in full swing and all (http://www.oregonlive.com/living/oregonian/index.ssf?/base/living/1147130747108500.xml&coll=7). Sorry, no pictures with the online article - the kitten they mention is just beyond adorable.) I hope someday that my life gets organized and quiet enough that I can foster.
